Why this site
We wanted to let people think about that not every German was as bad as Hitler was. There were a lot of Germans who suffered from the war. The Jews in Germany were slaugtered by their own country and that is something a lot of people forget.
Basic information
According to the counting in June 1933, the Jewish population of Germany consisted out of 500,000 people. One percent of the 67 million people in Germany was a Jew. Unlike ordinary counting methods, the criteria for Jews were set up in the Nuremberg Laws of 1935 and there on a Jew was condemned. Consequently, the Nazis also saw thousands of people who had converted from Judaism to another religion still as Jews, among them even Roman Catholic priests and nuns and Protestant ministers whose grandparents were Jewish.
